Le hapal\u00e9mur de Madagascar est un petit l\u00e9murien au pelage brun et aux grands yeux orange. Il vit dans les for\u00eats humides du pays et passe beaucoup de temps dans les bambous, qu\u2019il adore manger. Son nom anglais \u00ab bamboo lemur \u00bb vient justement de cette habitude. Cet animal peut dig\u00e9rer les tiges de bambou qui contiennent du cyanure, une substance toxique pour la plupart des autres esp\u00e8ces. Les chercheurs pensent que son organisme a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des moyens sp\u00e9ciaux pour neutraliser ce poison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le hapal\u00e9mur ne vit pas seul, il forme de petits groupes familiaux qui se d\u00e9placent tranquillement de branche en branche. Ses journ\u00e9es sont rythm\u00e9es par la recherche de jeunes pousses tendres et la toilette entre compagnons, un comportement qui renforce les liens sociaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malheureusement, la d\u00e9forestation et les feux de brousse r\u00e9duisent son habitat. Le hapal\u00e9mur est donc class\u00e9 en danger critique d\u2019extinction. Prot\u00e9ger les for\u00eats malgaches est essentiel pour lui donner un avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
