La Kalancho\u00eb est une petite plante originaire de Madagascar. Ses feuilles \u00e9paisses emmagasinent l\u2019eau, c\u2019est une succulente. Elle survit dans les zones s\u00e8ches de l\u2019\u00eele. Au sommet des tiges apparaissent des grappes de minuscules fleurs en forme d\u2019\u00e9toile. Elles peuvent \u00eatre rouges, roses, jaunes ou oranges, selon la vari\u00e9t\u00e9, et restent ouvertes plusieurs semaines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette plante attire des insectes pollinisateurs qui transportent le pollen d\u2019une fleur \u00e0 l\u2019autre. Cela permet la formation de petites graines que le vent peut ensuite disperser. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa floraison longue et color\u00e9e, la Kalancho\u00eb est souvent cultiv\u00e9e comme plante d\u00e9corative dans les maisons et les \u00e9coles. Elle demande peu d\u2019eau et appr\u00e9cie la lumi\u00e8re sans soleil br\u00fblant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En observant une Kalancho\u00eb, on peut donc \u00e9tudier l\u2019adaptation des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse, le r\u00f4le des pollinisateurs et la reproduction des plantes \u00e0 fleurs. C\u2019est un excellent exemple pour comprendre comment une esp\u00e8ce venue de Madagascar peut s\u2019\u00e9panouir partout, d\u00e8s qu\u2019on lui offre les bonnes conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
